“Second Skin” Trailer Tells It Like It Is

Second Skin

While casual players of MMOs may not see the big deal, it’s plain as day to the rest of the planet: hardcore gaming has taken on a disturbing level of obsession. Players log in ungodly amounts of time playing titles such as World of Warcraft and Everquest, effectively ostracizing them from the outside world. Video games, like watching television and playing sports, are simply a source of entertainment - but when do they become less of a leisure activity and more of an addiction?

Second Skin is out to set the record straight, touching on not only the obsessive gamers - the trailer seems not to point fingers at the games, but at the player’s themselves, which is fair - but the relationships they forge with like-minded people worldwide. These gaming communities are strong, but some turn their players into anti-social shut ins, concerned with gaming and nothing else.

celebrity internauts

Even before the WGA strike, celebrities were starting to migrate their talents onto the internet. Between mega popular viral videos by Will Farrell and Jimmy Kimmel, technologies created by Kevin Rose and “leaked” sex tapes, there are plenty of ways for stars to maintain their relevance online.

In some cases, a celebrity’s status is larger online than it is in the real world - or close to it. Is it life imitating art, or art imitating the internet? With that said, check out our list of celebrities who not only made a move online, but benefited from it in a major way. Read more

Jimmy Kimmel is F***ing Ben Affleck

Jimmy Kimmel

Continuing the never-ending saga that is their marriage, Jimmy Kimmel dispatched a diss last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live to his wifey, Sarah Silverman, after her “I’m F***ing Matt Damon” music video murked him something fierce weeks earlier.

His retort? He’s f***ing Ben Affleck.

Featuring a cast of thousands, Kimmel’s music video for “I’m F***ing Ben Affleck” (probably written by Silverman, funny enough) is straight-up ridiculous. High points include Kimmel and Affleck singing way too close for comfort and a “We Are the World” celebrity hoedown - but the greatest (and most unexpected) part happens 2:45 into the video. Watch and be dumbstruck.

Is Amanda Bynes Behind “Be Kind Rewind”?

Slashfilm recently featured a video that compared Michel Gondry’s new film Be Kind Rewind to The Amanda Show, which aired on Nickelodeon eight years ago. While the concepts are indeed similar, it’s commonplace for these kind of coincidences to happen in entertainment…right?
