It is almost not fair. This movie has been a cinematic c**k-tease for the last 2 years. It might be part genius and part greedy corporation, but the way they keep spitting out media info for this movie - it is just enough to keep your attention. I have still been waiting to see the giant exploding monster, the owl-mobile, Dr. Manhattan blowing more sh*t up, Ozymandias’ cat and whether they are going to make Rorschach extra ugly looking. Watchmen, one of the most anticipated movies of next year, is up against a villain no super hero has been able to defeat; litigation.

On Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Gary Allen Feess, denied Warner Brothers motion for a dismissal of a lawsuit filed by 20th Century Fox, claiming Fox owned the exclusive rights to a Watchmen movie.

The basis of the lawsuit is Fox claims it acquired all movie rights to the graphic novel between 1986 and 1990. In 1991, Fox transferred some rights to producer Larry Gordon. Part of the agreement between Fox and Gordon was the option to shop distribution rights to other studios. If a studio were interested, Gordon would buy out Fox’s remaining rights to the film. Fox claims that Warner Brothers or Gordon has paid them for the rights. To make matters worse, according to Variety, Fox isn’t just looking for monetary compensation but to prevent Warner Brothers from ever releasing the movie. At 1:32 in the Watchmen trailer, this pin-up of Sally Jupiter (played by Carla Gugino) appears for only a second. The illustration was done by artist, James Jean. And according to him, the picture plays a far greater role in the scene than the flash in the trailer conveys. Which is why we’re just going to sit here and stare at it for a while…

If you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to The Dark Knight–which you weren’t, if you live here in New York–then you probably haven’t seen the first full-length trailer to director Zach Snyder’s (300) new flick, Watchmen. Based off of the “most celebrated” graphic novel of all time, this movie looks to be the most badass yet. We’re talking amazing. So stop checking out Megan Fox for a minute (actually, two minutes and 16 seconds) for the cinematic orgasm you’re about to experience.
