By now, you should all be experts on what it takes to be frat. Now, we take a look at the frattiest schools and ask you to vote for the one who out-frats them all. The Princeton Review just released their annual list of the top 20 party schools. So, which schools slacked off and which partied their f***ing faces off? Well, the Dawgs no longer hold down the top spot and Penn State almost slipped out of the top 10. Who brought the motherf***in’ fury? Those Cali kids in Santa Barbara jumped up a couple spots and Ole Miss must’ve increased levels of hottie toddys at the Grove. We think the folks in Tempe are gonna be pissed. This morning, Playboy released its list of Top 10 Party Schools featured in the magazine’s May 2011 issue on newsstands and online at playboydigital.com Friday, April 15. The rankings were determined by Playboy’s editors with input from students, Facebook fans, Twitter followers, alumni, feedback from Playboy campus representatives at schools across the country, and interviews with countless others. Other factors included male-female ratios, academics, winning percentage of sports teams, and proximity to beaches, ski slopes and lively music scenes. One school will DEFINITELY jump out at you. The Houston Chronicle reports a hearing has been scheduled to discuss a proposed bill that if passed would grant college students and professors the right to carry guns on campus. Supporters say it’s a rights issue and critical for defending oneself and against mass shootings while opponents fear it will lead to more violence. Reuters reports a University of Texas at Austin study asked 718 college students to imagine being in a long-term relationship and what their reactions would be to several different cheating scenarios. Researchers found that half of men surveyed would forgive their girlfriend for cheating if it were with another woman. 22 percent of male respondents said they could forgive betrayal with another man. ESPN has reached a 20-year agreement with The University of Texas to launch a network based on the school in September 2011. The channel will offer a variety of programs, highlighted by more than 200 exclusive events annually from numerous sports, original series and studio shows, historical programming and academic and cultural happenings. Ohio State? USC? Florida? The answer might surprise you. After Auburn finished the season undefeated (for the second time since 2000) and won the BCS National Championship, many asked where this team stands amongst the best of the past 10 years. Auburn’s conference, the SEC, has been consistently hailed as the best in D-1, yet they don’t have any schools among the top five with the best winning percentages since 2000. Of the top 25 programs of the last 11 years, five are from the ACC, four are from the Big 10, four are from the Big 12 and four are from the SEC, according to ESPN.com. This is the time of the college football season when champions are made and rivals do battle. This week’s contests feature the ‘Noles trying to spear the Gators, a shootout in the Lone Star State, Cam Newton in the Iron Bowl, Wildcats hoping to get buckwild on the Ducks, Boise State’s push for #1, and the Buckeyes trying to avoid an upset against the Michigan Wolverines. The NHL had the bright idea of playing the “Winter Classic” outside at venues not typically used for hockey. The concept has since been adopted by the NCAA with ridiculous results. What’s a “Public Ivy?” It’s a school that provides an Ivy League collegiate experience at a public school price. Originally, only eight schools were considered Public Ivies, but since then, more schools have been added to the list. COED breaks down what makes these Public Ivies so (inexpensively) awesome.
