As the late, great lead singer of Sublime Bradley Nowell once sang “Summer time and the living’s easy.” What makes the living easy (besides the weather, beaches, pools, barbecues, girls, and baseball)? How about the crazy good concerts and music festivals? There is nothing better than going to see a show on a nice summer day or night with a fun group of friends. Although in past years ticket prices have been rather outrageous, many artists are making changes to accommodate their fans in today’s tough economic times. I have put together a little guide to let you know about some great shows worth catching this summer. Check it out after the jump!

While most of us single dudes will be hitting up the bar for some chicks with low self-esteem tonight that doesn’t mean you can’t show them a night of passionate puddin’ pumpin’ to renew their faith in love. For those with significant others, we feel for ya. Gifts are cool, but when it comes down to crunch time, MUSIC makes the people COME together (if you smell what the Rock is cookin’). One of the best things about Christmas time is the music. It’s bright, colorful, and warm; just what you need to get through the cold winter months. I, being a young angry man, have the punk rock attitude of going a bit against the grain. While I do appreciate the likes of Burl Ives, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and even the wholly depressing “Happy Christmas (War Is Over)” by John Lennon, I prefer my diet of Christmas music to be a bit more modern. This morning students at Fordham University had a 8AM wake up call from Bono, The Edge and the guys from U2. The legendary band was on campus to do a taping of Good Morning America and treat the students to a six song concert in support of their new album No Line on the Horizon.
