We all make mistakes, of course. And if you’re lucky, most of those mistakes happen behind closed doors, where the general public can’t see your shame. But sometimes those mistakes happen in broad daylight, in front of all your family, friends, classmates and the opposing team, who just scored a touchdown because of your dumbass.

After Santonio Holmes’s Super Bowl-winning touchdown reception, he emerged from the mobbing by his teammates and celebrated the catch by imitating the fabled ‘powder salute’ that LeBron James has made into a cult following these days.  The Akron Beacon Journal caught up with King James and asked him about Holmes’ ‘honoring’ of his pre-game staple, and here’s what he had to say: (more…)

The Arizona Cardinals are going to enter the 2008 NFL season with the ancient former grocery-bagger Kurt Warner as their starting quarterback, despite having the talented and expensive former first round pick Matt Leinart chilling on the pine.

Leinart started the first five games of 2007 before suffering a fractured collarbone against the St. Louis Rams.  However, Leinart is back and healthy this preseason – yet the powers that be are handing the team back over to Warner. (more…)
