As we start the beginning of the college football bowl season, the movement of college football teams to different conferences last has become one of the hot topics around the sport. Many college football analysts have predicted that we might end up having four or five super-mega conferences instead of the current number of eleven. As many are on the fence about this subject, here are the top five reasons why Super-Mega College Conferences would be a good thing for college football.

One week down and a weekend left. If you’re a self-described nerd or a shameful hipster, chances are you wish you were in Austin right now. Thousands of these archetypical consumers from all over the world have gathered in Texas’ capital to experience new technology, movies and music. The festival officially kicked off last weekend but the parties are now in full swing as we head into the weekend. And by full swing, I was referring to people having fun… not the kid with a tri-mohawk who swung a skateboard at the face of a guy who tried to snap a picture of his stupid hair. See what you’ve been missing down in Texas after the jump!

March 2nd is Texas Independence Day, a state holiday in which most Texans celebrate the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence. The document effectively created the Republic of Texas, an independent nation that encompassed present-day Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming from 1836 to 1846. Without that pioneering piece of paper, we might never have laid eyes on the wildly wonderful women in this photo gallery. Today, we go deep into the heart of Texas with pics of chicks born, raised, and/or living in the Lonestar State. They’ll make anyone – Texan or not – proud to be an American.

For all Mets fans, baseball fans or sports fans who didn’t want to see the New York Yankees or Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series again, we can thank the Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants and most importantly, the Baseball Gods.

What’s a “Public Ivy?” It’s a school that provides an Ivy League collegiate experience at a public school price. Originally, only eight schools were considered Public Ivies, but since then, more schools have been added to the list. COED breaks down what makes these Public Ivies so (inexpensively) awesome.

Katie’s a college coed and budding model from Texas who recently attended a casting call in Toronto and appeared on Playboy’s Fresh Faces site. We wonder if the old adage, “rivers run deep” applies to this buxom blonde. Hopefully, she’s just as fiery as San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers when approaching the “end zone”.

As the season goes on, the games start to get better. Over the last week of college football there were teams that stepped up, some that stepped back, others that kicked butt, and other that got there butt kicked. If you’re wondering what happened to the supposed best in the nation read on.

Of the 18 times Arkansas and Alabama have faced off, the Tide won 10. The last bout was hardly a contest with the Crimson Tide rolling over the Razorbacks 35-7. Things are different this year, though. This time both teams rock.

Sometimes you don’t really need to have a good reason to hate someone for any reason other than where they are from. Before you go crazy on me, I am not talking about racial profiling; I’m talking about college football rivalries. Every team starts the season with aspirations of division, conference, and/or even national title hopes in mind. Of course most teams can’t live up to those dreams. But there is a something that any team would gladly have as the consolation prize to a championship — beating their hated rival. Here are the biggest rivals in the history of college football.

Suck me sideways. 2010′s version of Karate Kid destroyed the competition including the highly anticipated film adaptation of the hit TV series, A-Team. It faced Face, rampaged Rampage, clocked Murdoch, and ate Hannibal with some Brett Favre beans and a nice chianti. Did not see that coming. This week’s entries include prostitutes, prostitutes, women who prostitute themselves, women who may be sold into prostitution, gay marriage, and… screw it, what’s the point anyway? Oh wait, there’s a doc that answers that? Okay, read on!

Every once in a while we spot an absolute smokeshow running around a regular college campus as if she isn’t the sexiest co-ed to ever grace the quad. And this time the miracle happened during the University of Texas Undie Run (thanks to TPS for pointing her out). Seriously, we haven’t seen a student this sexy since the mystery bombshell at University of Wisconsin. We’re so desperate to figure out who she is that we’re going to give a DEWmocracy give pack that includes a Flip Cam to the first person that can identify and tag her on our Facebook Page. Surprised we’re doing such an awesome giveaway in exchange for a name and some hard core detective work? You won’t be once you see these photos.
