Everyone I’ve ever met has a dark past with tequila. Just the mention of it makes their face go sour–the shots, the smell, the blinding drunk, and a hellacious hangover the next morning. For some reason, I am not one of those people. But after my family vacation to Mexico last week, I learned a bit about another South-of-the-Border brew: Mezcal.

I’m not sure exactly when it was, but at some point last night your eyes glazed over a little bit, and the alcohol took over. Let me fill you in on a few of the things you probably did last night after you blacked out.

Today’s stereotyping doesn’t come from skin color, religion, or sexual preference (well it does, but not for the sake of this article). Here are the stereotypes that come along with the alcohol you drink.

Palinka – the Hungarian brandy. For a spirit to be classified as palinka, it must be made from a fruit based brandy – and it has to be damn strong. According to European Union official definitions, real palinka must be made in Hungary from ingredients grown in Hungary, and MUST be between 37.5-percent and 86-percent alcohol content.

Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo – and anyone with access to alcohol is going to be celebrating the beautiful tradition of getting wasted off their ass, Mexico-style. We recently had this girl on the Site, peeling a banana with her feet, which was awesome. But this week, she’s upped the ante by doing a tequila shot, yep, you guessed it, with her feet!
