March 2nd is Texas Independence Day, a state holiday in which most Texans celebrate the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence. The document effectively created the Republic of Texas, an independent nation that encompassed present-day Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming from 1836 to 1846. The 2011 Adult Video News (AVN) Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) begins today in Las Vegas and runs through the weekend. It’s the biggest gathering of porn stars, studios and insiders. Probably the biggest and best part of the expo will be the 28th Annual AVN Awards ceremony set to take place Saturday night. It’s about 1 billion times better than the Oscars.
