Great, Lap Dances Are Taxable Now

Early Saturday morning (June 11th), the AP reported a New York state court ruled alcohol-free strip clubs will be forced to tax lap dances because they don’t qualify for a state tax exemption as “dramatic or musical arts performances.” This was in response to an Albany club called, “Nite Moves”, which apparently owes more than $125,000 in back taxes from 2005. The club’s lawyer stated, “We admit the ballet is a little different and maybe a little more finely tuned.” Read our reaction after the jump.
