Typically, when you think of summer movies, you conjure up images of big budget superhero flicks laced with explosions and special effects starring mega superstar A-list talent. When summer time is here it’s a golden time for studios, since this is when all that sweet honey is made. As temperatures start to climb, you can expect a movie’s profits to do the same. But for every winner there must be a loser. For every film the makes over $100 million, another makes far less. Which movies this year will take a big dip in the box office? Find out in COED’s list of six summer movies guaranteed to bomb!

We didn’t get to attend Comic-con, but we still heard all the buzz about Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World here in NYC. Earlier this week COED was lucky enough to attend a screening of Scott Pilgrim, however, and we must admit that the buzz isn’t just hype: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is pure pop-culture cinematic bliss.

It doesn’t take an overpaid Hollywood executive to figure out how to make a summer blockbuster. In fact, we’re pretty confident that any guy with a camera and YouTube account can whip up his own pretty quickly using our formula. Oh and you’ll probably also need access to a few major Hollywood stars…but they shouldn’t be too hard to find.

By now, it’s easy to know what to expect from the summer movie season. There will be a few movies with big robots (Transformers 2, Terminator). There will be at least one superhero movie (Wolverine). At least one Judd Apatow movie (Funny People) and at least one Adam Sandler movie (Funny People, again)…
