Before watching this, I had actually forgotten how awesome the opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark was. Tragic, I know. Some guy named Jeff Gurwood has been making shot-for-shot remakes of classic movies by building sets for action figures and then using stop motion animation. What do you do when you’re a big nerd and want to carry geek culture with you at all times? Get a sleeve tattoo, of course. To really go the full mile though, you need to photograph each step in stop motion and then post the videos online. Well that’s exactly what this guy’s done, and the results are pretty incredible. One good thing to come out of this recession is the massive influx of creative content people are producing because they don’t have anything better to do with their laid-off selves. Take this awesome 8-bit Lego stop motion music video for instance. It took 1500 hours to put together. And you thought you were being productive because you made a new bong.

Sometimes someone comes up with an idea that is so awesome, you can’t even believe it exists. Legotallica is one of those things. By our estimate, YouTube user, Jeanbk94 had to take a minimum of 7,200 pictures to make this 3.5 minute video. But this thing rocks so hard, there’s absolutely no question it was worth it.
