In the past decade, Spider-Man has gone from comic book character to cultural icon. During that time, the web-slinger has kind of become an obsession of mine. When COED got invited to preview Spider-Man: Edge of Time, I was naturally pumped to check it out. The concept seemed impressive but I needed to play the final version before I made my official decision. A morbid question, we know, but a relevant one nonetheless. Each year we are confronted by the demise of a few famous faces, from the shocking deaths of Patrick Swayze, Brittany Murphy and Michael Jackson in 2009 to the tragedy of Gary Coleman and Greg Giraldo in 2010. Looks like Spider-Man will be hanging out with Mickey Mouse more often than he wants. The Walt Disney Company has agreed to acquire Marvel Entertainment and all its superheroes. The total cost of the acquisition will be around $4 billion. Disney will now have access to over 5,000 Marvel characters, some of them which include house hold names like Spider-Man, X-Men, and Iron-Man.

Anyone who follows gaming, Spiderman, Comic-con – or any variation of the previous three, knows of the impending release of the new Spiderman game. One of the only latest superhero games NOT to be released with an accompanying movie – Web of Shadows appears to be a decent attempt at combining superhero games with epics like Resident Evil.
