As we start the beginning of the college football bowl season, the movement of college football teams to different conferences last has become one of the hot topics around the sport. Many college football analysts have predicted that we might end up having four or five super-mega conferences instead of the current number of eleven. As many are on the fence about this subject, here are the top five reasons why Super-Mega College Conferences would be a good thing for college football.

Every year, Playboy publishes a pictorial featuring the hottest girls of a given conference. In 2010, they showcased the Girls of the PAC-10 and the year before that it was the ACC. This year, it’s the SEC’s turn. The fine females of (arguably) the top football conference have been featured five times in the past – 1981, 1989, 1994, 2001, and 2007. Ohio State? USC? Florida? The answer might surprise you. After Auburn finished the season undefeated (for the second time since 2000) and won the BCS National Championship, many asked where this team stands amongst the best of the past 10 years. Auburn’s conference, the SEC, has been consistently hailed as the best in D-1, yet they don’t have any schools among the top five with the best winning percentages since 2000. Of the top 25 programs of the last 11 years, five are from the ACC, four are from the Big 10, four are from the Big 12 and four are from the SEC, according to ESPN.com.
