The NHL had the bright idea of playing the “Winter Classic” outside at venues not typically used for hockey. The concept has since been adopted by the NCAA with ridiculous results. After this past weekend’s pretty awesome Illinois-Northwestern game at Wrigley and Notre Dame-Army game at Yankee Stadium, we at COED got to thinking: what other non-football venues would make for cool college football matchups?

The San Francisco Giants, won the World Series last night and it took almost no time for the city’s ordinarily peaceful citizens to erupt in wild, rowdy and ultimately dangerous celebration. The city was spotted with fires, vandalism and violence and the social web showed us every gruesome detail. Pics here.

The Texas Rangers are on the brink of elimination as they head into Game 5 of the 2010 World Series tonight. While watching the games up to this point, there are certain characteristics and idiosyncrasies we picked up from each team’s respective hometown. If you’re not a Rangers or Giants fan, who do you route for?
