Last week, San Diego Padres ace right-hander nixed a trade that would have sent him to the middling Chicago White Sox, and now he might have made the right choice. The Padres are white hot right now, riding high after a 10-game winning streak. Jake Peavy has been dominant in his two starts during the streak and his team may be poised for a run at the NL Wild Card, possibly the division.

SAN DIEGO — At 7:29 p.m. local time Saturday, in the top of the second inning, Barry Bonds hit career home run No. 755 off Padres pitcher Clay Hensley. It was the first home run he had ever hit off Hensley, who became the 445th different major league pitcher to surrender a home run to Bonds.
