Of all of the albums being released on this Tuesday, I just may be the most excited about the Tom Morello album. Instead of slapping on suntan lotion, smokin’ a doobie, and heading to Grant Park to watch tons of awesome bands at this year’s Lollapalooza, we’re still at the office like a bunch of frickin’ dumbasses. But we know we’re not alone, so we’ve scoured the Web to find all the best coverage, videos, tidbits and music coming out of Lollapalooza 2008. It’s a revival! This year’s Lollapalooza at Chicago’s Grant Park promises to rock the pants off, well, anybody wearing pants like no other time since Jane’s Addiction glory days. The madness kicks-off tomorrow (Aug. 1st) with bands like The Black Keys, Gogol Bordello and Radiohead ready to rock down the house–and that’s just day one.

The festival goes until August 3rd, with Rage Against the Machine reuniting to end the second day, and Kaye West–who’s reportedly being introduced by Mr. Hope, Sen. Barack Obama himself–will close out the festival. (Nine Inch Nails is playing at bascially the same time.) You can check out the entire line-up here.

Unfortunately, rumor has it that most days for the festival are all sold out, but luckily you can still get tickets here… And you thought we wouldn’t hook you up…

Music is a funny industry. Like most other art, you’re praised if you’re even remotely aware of the underground and expected to, invariably, recognize the acts of the current mainstream. Myspace has managed to simultaneously make it easier and more difficult to keep up. Sure, there are thousands of new bands on Myspace that you would have never heard of before had it not been for the website–and it can all be very crowding to your musical mind–but they’re also all just a click away now. So get your little fingers ready for some intense clicking action. These Myspace links are probably gonna blow you away. Or…um…I hope at least one of them does.

ONE DAY AS A LION
Were you ever into Rage Against The Machine? How about The Mars Volta? Well, if you said yes to either one of those questions, you should hear the new project between Mr. Political Activism himself; Zach de la Rocha and the previous Mars Volta drummer; Jon Theodore. It’s like they were bored on some Cali beach one day, sipping Pacificos, when they looked at each other and said, “Shit, you know, lets just undo all of the wrong that Audioslave has done.”
