Join the Mutant War with X-Men Destiny [REVIEW]

Not too long ago COED received an invite to check out a preview of the new X-Men Destiny game. Being a huge comic book nerd, I jumped at the chance to go check out the game and the next direction X-Men video games were headed. Unlike previous X-Men games, you don’t play as the classic X-Men characters. I know, I know, that sounds like it is a horrible idea. Why would you want a game where you don’t get the chance to slice up bad guys with Wolverine or melt face with Cyclops? I’ll tell you why and a lot more in the review after the jump!

Viral ad videos are a mixed bag. When they work, they work wonderfully, promoting a product while entertaining you all at the same time. When they’re bad, they’re awful, taking up valuable time and bandwidth that could have been spent downloading porn. Here are some of the worst fake viral videos on the Internet, the ones that insult our intelligence and make us want to not buy the featured product all at the same time.

The summer blockbusters just keep on rolling, as mega developers such as EA and Konami are poised to drop another wave of addictive releases into gamers’ open arms. Whether you’re an avid follower or just a casual player, this spring is chock full of new releases for all different tastes. Some people find themselves drawn in like a moth to a flame, spending afternoons locked in their room attempting to conquer the latest role playing title, while others only turn on their XBox after drunkenly stumbling in at 2 A.M., looking for something to keep their mind occupied until they pass out on the couch.

Hands-On with NBA 2K10: Preview

Over the years, I’ve come to expect a lot from 2K Sports. Their games are always top-notch, ultra-realistic and super-connected to the actual sports the games emulate. So it was no surprise when I strolled into 2K’s offices this morning to find the most realistic looking video game I’ve ever seen: NBA 2K10.

Gamer Grip: The BIGS 2

Gamer Grip: The BIGS 2

Despite the fact that I’ve been playing and reviewing video games for years, I seriously, seriously suck at baseball games. Watching me play MLB 2K9 would send any serious sports-game fan into an uncontrollable fit of rage from my complete and total lack of skills. And that’s why I like The BIGS 2. Building on The BIGS franchise, The BIGS 2‘s over-the-top, arcade-style game play can cover-up even the worst player’s half-assed attempt at seeming athletic.

Hands-On With MLB 2K9

Hands-On With MLB 2K9

This morning, I had a chance to get some hands-on time with the latest from 2K Sports: Major League Baseball 2K9. And I have to say, I’m impressed. Like NBA 2K9, the game is a visual powerhouse, with graphics so realistic, out of the corner of your eye, you’d think you were watching a live game. Add in amped-up sound effects, real-time crowd noise a new broadcast team made up of pros…
