Last week, we followed our abysmal showing in Week 11 with a 3-7 record for our predictions. If we were fantasy football players we’d be color coded blue. Lots of close games in Week 12 with the upset special coming at the hands of Iowa State who took down #2 Oklahoma State. So, which match-ups should you tune into over the Thanksgiving break? Last week, we went 3-6. It was only a matter of time before we took a digger. Mizzou flashed their old Big 12 dominance in shutting down the Longhorns, Illinois and Iowa disappointed in the upset department, but at least our prognostication of a bajillion points scored in the K-State / A&M game came through. Last week, we went 6-4. Can’t really pinpoint where we went wrong. The LSU-Bama was a snooze-fest. I fell asleep. I’m not a defensive-minded guy. I was a QB and I long for the days of the Run ‘n’ Gun. Spread the formation, throw the ball. That’s why the Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State contest was a dream come true. We didn’t the Wildcats again in our Week 10 preview, but it’s only because they’re one of the few ranked teams that always seems to be the underdog by double digits. If you’re not familiar with NMA TV’s computer animated awesomeness, do yourself… a favor and check out their YouTube channel. I first discovered their wacky take on current events via Adult Swim, which aired the videos WITHOUT English subtitles, making the whole experience triply WTF. Other than maybe soccer hooligans across the pond, I don’t think you’ll find a more rabid fan base than football’s. While there are some real fervent and passionate peeps supporting the NFL, we think college football might be just a tad more spirited. College football fans live, eat, breathe, and sh*t their alma mater’s program. But which programs have the largest pool of undying patrons? Not to brag or nothin’ but we picked some pretty solid games to watch last weekend. Though we went 2-3 with our predictions, the games in which we lost were close, save the Oregon-LSU game. BYU edged Ole Miss by a point, and CSU only bested New Mexico by 6. Other noteworthy moments included ND falling USF and #23 Auburn barely squeaking by unranked Utah State, which resulted in them getting booted from the top 25. Last week, Oklahoma and South Carolina got spanked and Stanford embarrassed Arizona. The LSU / Alabama game topped them all. We look ahead to this week’s game featuring the Gamecocks vs. Florida, Miss State and Alabama, Ohio State vs. Penn State, A&M vs. Baylor, and K-State vs. Mizzou.

Fall is here and while the NFL gets most of the crap games out of the way early; they call it pre-season (watch at your risk), in college they do not do something neat like that. No, instead, most teams wait a few weeks before playing anyone of consequence. It’s like they have to wait for it to cool down some before they can actually play some real football! If you want to actually watch a competitive football game or two before the leaves start changing colors then read on.

First comes Christmas, then New Year’s Eve – then college F’ing football! Now we think, like any good sports fan, that the BCS championship system is a load of crap.
