I used to get caught up in trends when I was younger and I still do, to a certain extent, these days, but I just can’t get on board with “parkour” or “freerunning”. Yeah, it’s fun to watch… ONCE. After that, I’m hoping there’s a league with teams and a scoring system. If not, then what’s the point (pun intended). That’s why I love it when these f***ing herbs fail big time doing sh*t that’s so “in” right now. Even Hansel is impressed. Freerunning is a form of urban acrobatics in which the participants, known as freerunners, use city and rural landscapes to perform insanely, difficult movements to get from Point A to Point B in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The guys over at the Tempest Freerunning Academy made this sick video to celebrate the Grand Opening of their new Los Angeles based training center. You might remember them from their appearance on Conan a while back. The video starts out with a hot chick then features a Super Mario Brothers inspired set. These guys know how to flip out. Living in New York City, I’ve often contemplated whether or not I’d be able to jump over the subway tracks, from one platform to the other. But because of fear, or just sheer laziness, I’ve never attempted this heroic feat. Which is probably good, because even if I did, I’d just look like a pussy next to this guy.
