College Football Week 7 Preview: Cheerleader Edition

cheerwk7-feature

For the first time seemingly all season, last week was rather quiet in the top ten – on the field.  Off the field, the cheerleaders and annual beer pong tournaments were making plenty of noise on campus.  With only a few weeks to go before Halloween gives us the hottest mix of scantily clad girls with BACs pushing 0.4, let’s take a look at this week’s matchups for the best of the best in college football…

No. 1 Florida (5-0) vs. Arkansas (3-2)

Saturday, Oct. 17, 2:30 pm, CBS (HD) / Online

The return of Tim Tebow helped propel the top ranked Gators to a 13-3 win on the road over LSU.  This big time win despite the vulnerability surrounding their top dog made it all but certain that this Florida squad is poised for its third title in the past three years…and no, not even Ryan Mallett can stand in their way this week.

No. 2 Alabama (5-0) vs. No. 22 South Carolina (5-1)

Saturday, Oct. 17, 6:45 pm, ESPN (HD)

After an impressive dismantling of a then-ranked No. 20 Ole Miss team last week, Bama has finally leapfrogged Texas and is enjoying the week from the No. 2 slot.  This week they face another test as they take on Steve Spurrier’s team who has already upset a then-No. 4 ranked Ole Miss team (yes, we can see the trend of Ole Miss’ ranking continually dropping).

No. 3 Texas (5-0) vs No. 20 Oklahoma (3-2)

Saturday, Oct. 17, 11 am, ABC (HD)

And this week Texas will have the opportunity to make a statement with a giant game left on their schedule against the hated Sooners from up north.  This will be a much bigger storyline now that we have the epic McCoy vs. Bradford shootout on the docket.  Expect this to be a Big 12 dogfight – and no, Mike Vick is not invited. 2009 College Football Week Six Preview: Cheerleader Edition

College-Football-WK6

Week 6 is upon us in the land of college football, and many campuses are starting to get hit with the colors of autumn, the crisp coldness in the air, and most importantly, the two or three extra shots needed to keep warm in the student section during the game. With a continual whirlwind knocking the top teams out of the rankings each week, expect more of the same this week. The key matchup will center around the health of Tim Tebow, while the rest of the top ten will be looking over their shoulder (directly at the opposing cheerleading squad) hoping not to get knocked off their top 10 perch.

No. 1 Florida (4-0) at No. 4 LSU (5-0)

Saturday, Oct. 10, 7:00 pm CBS (HD) / Online

Obviously, this is the game of the week and probably the game of the season to this point. And we are hours away from kickoff and still wondering about whether or not Tim Tebow will play and if he does, how effective he will be. Get ready for a great battle in the SEC that could have national title implications down the road.

No. 2 Texas (4-0) vs. Colorado (1-3)

Saturday, Oct. 10, 6:15 pm, ESPN (HD)

This could be a blood bath. Colorado is having a dismal season that has already seen a loss to Colorado State and a trouncing put on them by Toledo, but they haven’t experienced pain yet like they will this coming Saturday night in Texas.

Alabama-Cheerleaders-1

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 3 Alabama (5-0) at No. 20 Mississippi (3-1)

Saturday, Oct. 10, 2:30 pm CBS (HD) / Online

If this matchup occurred prior to Ole Miss’ SEC opening loss at South Carolina, perhaps we’d be talking about it like the Florida/LSU game. But Mississippi did as we all expected and lost to an unranked team while holding on to a top 5 spot. The question is, can they rebound in their first true test since the Carolina game and show the nation that they are an elite team with a victory over Saban’s Tide?

No. 5 Virginia Tech (4-1) vs Boston College (4-1)

Saturday, Oct. 10, 7:00 pm CBS (HD) / Online

Boston College has been a thorn in the ass for the Hokies in recent past, with the Eagles winning the past three regular season meetings. After big wins over Nebraska and Miami (FL), is this Virginia Tech team battled tested enough to withstand a let down loss to BC?

No. 6 Boise State (5-0) at Tulsa (4-1)

Wednesday, Oct. 14th, 7:00 pm, ESPN (HD)

This game is not until next Wednesday, but this looks to be a great match-up between the top teams in the WAC and C-USA conferences.

No. 7 USC (4-1) is on bye

An off week for the Trojans after a big win at Cal, but they open right back up on the road with a tough game against the Irish in South Bend next week.

No. 8 Cincinnati (5-0) at No. 23 South Florida (5-0)

Thursday, Oct. 15, 6:30 pm, ESPN (HD)

Yes, you read that correctly, the Bearcats are indeed ranked No. 8. Their next game isn’t until Thursday, October 15, where the smart money is on Cincy falling to a very dangerous and undefeated South Florida squad on the road.

Ohio-State-Cheerleader

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 9 Ohio State (4-1) vs. Wisconsin (5-0)

Saturday, Oct. 10, 2:30 pm, ESPN / ABC (HD)

A big game for the Big Ten this weekend as the Badgers take their undefeated record to The Shoe in hopes of burying the Buckeyes back into the middle of the Big Ten race. Ohio State has only allowed 59 points through three games this season and only 14 in the past three. The Wisco run offense vs. Ohio St run defense will be the key to this game.

No. 10 TCU (4-0) at Air Force (3-2)

Saturday, Oct. 10, 6:30 pm CBSC (HD)

Two of the top rushing offenses in the nation will be battling it out in Colorado Springs this weekend. The Horned Frogs are no. 13 in the land, while the Falcons sit at no. 2. TCU looks to remain the only unbeaten team in the MWC conference.

Shooting at University of Central Arkansas

Shooting at University of Central Arkansas

It has been a pretty scary week on college campuses. First there was the shooting at Western Kentucky University, which prompted a campus lockdown to keep students safe. Last night there was yet another campus shooting, this time at the University of Central Arkansas.

Here is what we know. [College Candy]

Penn State Students Celebrate Victory Over Ohio State With Grace, A Little Rioting

Penn State students, after years of disgrace against Ohio State, let out their frustration in the early morning hours Sunday by ripping down street lights, blazing bushes and generally just busting up their campus.

And the police weren’t afraid of blasting these drunken idiots with mace. [Busted Coverage]

Texas Tech Fan Contest Winning Kicker Goes 6 for 6

The other day we introduced you to Matt Williams, the Texas Tech student who won a field-goal kicking contest during a timeout of the Red Raiders game against UMass earlier this year. In the tradition of all those movies we loved as kids, he is now the Texas Tech kicker.  Dreams can come true, kids.

Mr. Williams’ right leg is getting quite a workout against the Kansas Jayhawks this afternoon. He’s connected on all six of his PATs as Texas Tech is de-feathering Kansas, 42-14. [Sun Times]

U.S. Tax System Explained In Beer

It is very easy to get confused when someone explains the US Tax system, but my buddy sent this e-mail chain message that breaks it down by relating the system to something we all understand very well – splitting the beer tab…Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this…

Twelve Years ago, Joe Torre became the manager of the New York Yankees and guided them to the pinnacle of the baseball world in only his first season at the helm.  When Charlie Hayes made the final out in Game 6 of the 1996 World Series, the Yankees won the world championship for the first time in 18 years. This season he left the throne of New York to seek out another opportunity to prove his managerial superiority of this game.

South Park Enjoys Raping Indiana Jones

Who needs SNL when rabid anal pummeling is readily available on Comedy Central? The geniuses behind South Park brilliantly spoofed Steven Spielberg and George Lucas raping Indiana Jones on Wednesday night and (surprise, surprise!) the execs at Paramount aren’t happy.

The episode, Olympic Nightmare, shamelessly draws from those please-god-make-it-stop scenes in The Accused and Deliverance. Anytime one of the SP boys screams “rape!” you know the show is about to go from funny to masterful.

How to Create the Ultimate Bachelor Pad

How do you create the ultimate bachelor pad so a lady – or possibly many ladies – will come through and not be turned off by the fact that you live in your own sh*t.

The most important things to keep in mind when designing your bachelor pad are: YOU must be comfortable there. A WOMAN should not be uncomfortable there. It should reveal your PERSONALITY. It should be a FUNCTIONAL place to live. It should look like a MAN lives there.

Meet the 19-year-old Kristina and Karissa Shannon otherwise known as Shannon Twins and Hugh Hefner’s new slumber party favorites. Both models from Hollywood, CA, these teenagers fill all the criteria that Hef has for a woman – young and blond. Which, if you’re going to only have two criteria, is a pretty good way to go. 4 Questions for Entourage Season 5

Arguably the best show on television, Entourage, is in the middle of it’s fifth season. For those of you who watch the program, there are a lot of questions that still have to be answered before this season is up. And I’m stuck wondering how they are going to resolve some of the issues that are still out on the table. For those of you who don’t watch the show or who have it on DVR, I don’t think any of these questions are spoilers, but read with caution.

Busty Bartender Beauties

Every time you first walk in the door of a bar you’ve never been to before, you check out a couple of things before deciding whether or not to say: First, does the clientele look like a bunch of douchebags? Second, is the bartender hot? If the answer to the second question is yes, even a room full of tools can make the evening worth it.

Even though you won’t get her number, since every dude in the place has already asked her for it, few things beat an evening of sloshing it up with your bros while a bodacious babe serves you drinks and calls you “Honey.” To honor these alcoholic angels of the night, we’ve scoured the Web to put together all the best busty bartenders we could find. So grab yourself a cold one, sit back and enjoy.

One Year Later…Girls Still Enjoy Flaunting Their Drunken Madness on Facebook

Why aren’t people still up in arms about girls flaunting their drunken madness on Facebook? The topic was hot as a pistol – covered by almost every news source just days after the controversial group “30 Reasons Girls Should Call It A Night” was created, but now, almost a year later, the drama has subsided. It’s time to rustle some feathers by unleashing our infamous and well commented COED post back into the wild for a whole new batch of COED users to enjoy.

How To Buy Porn

It was such an exciting time in my life. Turning eighteen, a monumental event for one reason – I could buy porn. Yes, I could also buy cigarettes and lotto tickets but those aren’t nearly as fun. What makes me think of this was something that happened yesterday. I was in Borders, over in the men’s magazine section, which happens to be right next to the porn section. No big deal. As I was browsing, these three teenagers come over to the porn and start acting like they have never seen a pair of t*ts in their lives. “Oh man, catch out these boobs.” What tools!

Bikini Car Wash Girls

I hate to say it, gentlemen, but summer is over. The leaves are changing and a cold wind is blowing in – and that means all the bootylicious sidewalk eye-candy is about to go into hibernation for the winter, or at least turn into sweater kittens.  To properly pay homage to the warm months of 2008, we’ve turned to one of the best parts of summer – the bikini car wash. From the original, ground-breaking scene in the late Paul Newman’s classic Cool Hand Luke to the hot neighbor you saw washing her new car last week, sexy girls getting wet, soapy and almost naked will forever have a place in our hearts.

So don’t worry if you missed any of last week’s skintastic sexiness, we’ve got you completely covered. You might want to take a deep breath before diving into this one.

Juice-Up Your Arnold Palmer

Golf legend Arnold Palmer’s drink of choice is a half iced tea/half lemonade concoction that bares his name. There’s nothing better than an ice cold Arnie to chill you out on a hot afternoon. One thing I never thought about doing was adding alcohol to the drink – it would make the perfect triple threat.

Gays Rejoice with Petruzelli’s Win

So the meanest homeless man in the world was destroyed by the most outspoken self-described “goofy homo” I have ever seen. There are some pretty disturbing pictures out there that put this new MMA hero into a new light. All of a sudden, Chapelle’s sissy fights does not seem too far away.  Yet, in other circles, CBS is reeling from their long-term relationship with Elite XC which is almost completely based on the saleability and marketability of Kimbo Slice. What is ironic, is the backlash taking place in the network and in Elite XC itself. It appears that Kimbo did not want to fight Seth, and actually insisted on a cash bonus of $10,000 to take the fight.

The One Buckeye Who Hates Pryor

If there’s one Ohio State student out there that hates Terrelle Pryor, it’s definitely Todd Boeckman.  Boeckman was the starting quarterback that led the Buckeyes back to the BCS National Championship Game last season and planned on returning to Columbus with his sights set on a return trip to the title game and more importantly, a first round selection in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Many believed the talented Boeckman could provide Ohio State with another stellar year behind center, and that his Draft stock would rise and force teams on the professional level to give him a serious look early on.

As a junior, he took over for Troy Smith and didn’t skip a beat.  He threw for nearly 2400 yards and 25 touchdowns while leading the young Bucks to a Big Ten title, an 11-1 regular season record, and a return trip to the title game.  He probably could have been drafted in the mid to later rounds, but decided to pass on leaving early after his first year as a starter knowing that most of his team would be back, and that they’d have a very reasonable shot at putting up big numbers and capturing the title that would propel him into the early rounds of the 2009 NFL Draft. My Apology to the East Carolina Pirates and USC No. 1…again

After opening the season by upsetting two ranked teams, the Pirates earned themselves a place in the AP Top 25 for the first time in nine years. I thought week 1 was a total fluke. I was wrong. REALLY wrong.

East Carolina was No. 14 in the media poll released Sunday. Southern California remained No. 1 and Georgia was No. 2.

Ohio State’s sluggish 26-14 victory against Ohio, without star tailback Chris Wells, on Saturday cost the Buckeyes two spots in the rankings. They fell to No. 5 behind No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 4 Florida.

ECU spanked West Virginia. They brutalized them on the line and downfield. WVU strutted on and around the field like a top ranked team, they just didn’t play like it. I can only hope that ECU doesn’t start to buy into all of the hype now. If they can keep playing like they did on Saturday, this could be an epic season for the Pirates.

I will be watching!

PS – oh yeah, Pete Carroll and USC are #1 again…sigh…
