Pro Athlete Salaries in 1987 [Infographic]

Pro Athlete Salaries in 1987 [Infographic]

Pro athletes make crazy amounts of money. Even the lowest of the low on an NFL roster (practice squad) make what the rest of us would consider an excellent salary (minimum of $4700/week, which adds up to $79,900 over the regular season). It wasn’t always this way though. Back in the 1980′s salaries were much more modest. Here is an inforgraphic from a 1987 issue of Fortune Magazine that shows just how much average salaries in the four major sports have increased over the years. When your done reading this check out How Much Money Do You Make Compared to the Athletes? and The 10 Best Sports Jobs for Non-Athletes.

6 Athletes Who Deserve Their Own Biopic

6 Athletes Who Deserve Their Own Biopic

There have been reports Mark Wahlberg has stated he wants to turn “The Fighter” into a trilogy. Is this the next Rocky franchise? Most likely not, since this one’s based on actual events, but one wonders if Mickey Ward’s story warrants three feature length films? Prior to The Fighter’s release, his name rang few bells, but judging by its critical and box office success, one has to take a look around at other sports figures to see who’s ripe for the Hollywood treatment. In April 2009, Bleacher Report published their list of athletes who deserve celluloid dedications, now we have our list. See our selections after the jump!

Blake Griffin Has Ridiculous Ups [DUNK VIDEOS]

Blake Griffin Has Ridiculous Ups [DUNK VIDEOS]

Blake Griffin is having a ridiculous “rookie” season in the NBA (after missing last year with an injury) and he plans to showcase those talents on the national stage at this weekend’s All-Star game. The Western Conference Rookie of the Month for the past 3 months set a franchise record for most consecutive double-doubles, set a Clippers record for most points scored by a rookie, and is the first rookie to have two 40+ games in his rookie season since Allen Iverson. He can owe a great deal of his success to his pure, raw physical talents, namely his jumping abilities. Dude has ups. He’s got so much ups sometimes he misjudges how high he can get. See the video along with his best dunks after the jump!

The Most Underrated NBA Players of the Last Decade

The Most Underrated NBA Players of the Last Decade

Throughout the history of the NBA, players who’ve been second fiddle to the team’s franchise star have been just as significant as the big name. Scottie Pippin would’ve been a superstar on any other team had he not played in the shadow of Jordan throughout his prime. The same can be said of Chris Mullin playing behind Reggie Miller and of Joe Dumars being overshadowed by Isaiah Thomas. Every guy has that friend who seems to get lucky more often than he, but we just strung along like great wingmen, don’t we? Your time will come, my friends – but this post is dedicated to the NBA’s most underrated and unsung heroes over the last decade. See our selections after the jump!

How Did I Miss The “Like A Bosh” Craze?

How Did I Miss The “Like A Bosh” Craze?

This morning, I asked BroBible via their Facebook wall, “What’s the best thing you’ve seen all week?” A dude named Jeremy Chaput from Toronto responded with a link to this “Like a Bosh” video by The Basketball Jones. You might recognize the beat and rhythm – that’s because it’s a parody Slim Thug’s “Like a Boss”, which was also spoofed in the Saturday Night Live Digital Short called, “Like a Boss” featuring Seth Rogen and Andy Samberg, which you can view below. Somehow this “Like a Bosh” clip slipped under our radar. We’re sure a few of you have seen this before but we definitely think it’s worth another view.

Lil Wayne “Green & Yellow” vs. Wiz Khalifa’s “Black & Yellow” vs. EVERYONE ELSE [23 VIDEOS]

By now, you’ve probably heard Wiz Khalifa’s song “Black & Yellow” about 1 brahgrillion times. As with most anything that blows the eff up in pop culture, it usually gets the spoof or parody treatment. The deluge began with Tom Hanks’ son Chet Hanks aka Chet Haze with his Northwestern Remix “White and Purple”. Since then, many more have stepped up to the plate with the most notable remix coming from Lil Wayne with “Green and Yellow”. So, we scoured za YouTube to collect the very best remixes to ask you guys which one is most legit. You know a song’s blown up when UPS and Black & Decker throw their hat into the ring. Btw, be prepared to HATE this song once you’re done reviewing our entries. Vote for your favorite after the jump!

NBA Roundup: Griffin Makes Clippers No Laughing Matter

NBA Roundup: Griffin Makes Clippers No Laughing Matter

As we head into the second half of the NBA season, there are still a number of teams vying for a playoff spot. The biggest storylines of the past week include the surging New Orleans Hornets, the still-on-pace-for-70-wins Spurs, the vulnerable Heat dropping a handful of games, the Knicks falling back to Earth, Blake Griffin bringing the Clippers back to respectability and the pathetic Cavaliers losers of 28 of their last 29. 14 Funniest Post-Game Interviews [TO ALL THE NON BELIEVERS!]

With video of Bart Scott’s emotional post-game interview spreading across the ‘net like whoa, we thought we’d take a look at some of the best postgame interviews ever uploaded.
