The fans have been waiting since 2009′s Swoon, and there’s finally a new Silversun Pickups album. Neck of the Woods is a great return, too, with the glammy L.A. band continuing to work up epic rock tracks propelled by sweet melodies. Any rock critic could tell you that, though. We’re more excited to see the record taking off with the fans. P… Click to read more

Terry Richardson is becoming our new hero here at COED. Nobody’s having more fun getting hot babes to pose in provocative ways. Plus, he’s smart enough to put Rihanna in glasses for his latest sizzling photo shoot at Terry’s Diary. In fact, it looks like Rihanna is wearing Terry’s own glasses. The guy just turned his eyewear into a s… Click to read more

Trace Cyrus doesn’t want your money. He doesn’t want to impress your girl. He doesn’t want people watching him and Miley get into a fist fight on camera. All he wants is to be Prince or Michael Jackson, and maybe also to be around for all eternity. The man who is Ashland High talks about all that and more in this exclusive interview…

Luscious Jackson was one of Adam Yauch’s favorite bands, and the gals were some of his favorite people. Frontwoman Jill Cunniff even got a literal shout-out on one of the Beastie Boys’ early hardcore songs. That was back when Kate Schellenbach was the Beastie Boys drummer. She’d join Luscious Jackson as the first band signed to the Beast… Click to read more

Saturday Night Live is wrapping up another season, with Mick Jagger hosting the final show. This has everyone wondering if there’ll be another musical guest. It sure won’t be some unknown. The days are over when SNL hosted adventurous acts. Nobody shows up on SNL without established hits or lots of hype–but we’re looking back at some musical guests who couldn’t even use SNL to become one-hit wonders.

Need more hype on The Avengers? Here’s the new music video from the reunited Soundgarden, as they perform “Live to Rise” from the film’s soundtrack. It’s fun to see the Seattle act back together, but we’re also trying to figure out how much new Avengers footage is in this thing. The actual music is a pretty good hard-rock anthem, too. Check it out…

The mourning period is over, and everyone’s accepted that Dick Clark will no longer be around to host our next New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. It’ll take a little longer to accept that we’re stuck with Ryan Seacrest. But should we just mindlessly accept the praise that the media has given to the television icon? Not according to cert… Click to read more

How does 4 days in the sun partying on a private island with 311 sound? Pretty dope, right? We agree — that’s why COED is setting sail with the band (and many others) on May 10th from Miami, FL on the 311 Caribbean Cruise. The ship is going to drop off the revelers at their own private island, Half Moon Cay, which going to host the party to end all parties… Click to read more

We’re getting geared up for Record Store Day here at the COED offices, which includes the usual talk about the pleasures of vinyl. Everyone knows you can’t roll a joint on a download, but we’re also discussing how the vinyl LP had the most space for a sexy album cover. But what were the sexiest album covers? Let’s start by retiring a fe… Click to read more

You know what never gets dull or dated? Grunge gossip–especially when you have a one-woman industry like Courtney Love giving us so much to talk about. Her latest tirade involves a Twitter tantrum accusing Foo Fighter frontman (and former Nirvana drummer) Dave Grohl of trying to seduce Love’s 19-year-old daughter. Never mind that the marrie… Click to read more
