This September, we’ll see the latest evolution in the Apple iPod line. It’s being rumored that the iPod Touch and Nano will both offer cameras in the upcoming versions. The entire week we’ll dedicate a post to the evolution of Apple products and while we wait for the iPod rumors to turn into reality, let’s take a look back at the iPod, and how it evolved into the sexiest and the best music player in the world.

Netflix’s mail-based video rental program has expanded to a VOD capacity over the last year, but with limited success. This is for all those crotchety musicians that hate on Guitar Hero players ’cause, like, they should all learn real instruments and stuff. Truth be told, Guitar Rising looks well executed, though I’m wondering what songs will be licensed due to Guitar Hero’s stranglehold on the music game genre.

The latest news based on nothing but pure speculation comes from Capital, a German financial magazine.

For the German-impaired it goes something like this: upon hearing that Apple’s Jack-of-all-trades Steve Jobs and Volkswagen Chairman Martin Winterhorn had a tech rendevous in California earlier this week Capital pondered for a moment. After pondering for exactly one moment they thought, “Hey – what do cars and iPods have in common? Cars…iPods…carPods…podCars…wait! iCars!“

Whether this rumor has any truth behind it – or if the iCar’s steering wheel will be a click-wheel – has yet to be confirmed. (more…)
