May 9th is the 61st anniversary of the release of L. Ron Hubbard’s best-selling self-help book, “Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.” Scientologists regard the publication as a key historical event for their movement and the world, referring to the book as “Book One” while basing their calendar around its release date (2011 would be 61 AD – “After Dianetics”).
