There was once a time when animated sitcoms were all the rage in the wake of shows like The Simpsons and King of the Hill. It seemed like every network threw their hat into the ring at some point. However, many of these shows were either mega ratings bombs or were canned for not pulling in Simpsons-esque numbers. As a result, these series were canceled after their first season, several before their entire run had finished. These are a few of the unlucky ones that never found their place on network television, though most of them enjoy relatively decent success on cable and DVD. See our top 8 picks after the jump!

Last weekend Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader took the crown at the box office pulling in $24 mil while the combined firepower of A-listers Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie couldn’t push The Tourist to crack $20 mil. Meanwhile The Fighter pulled in close to a $75,000 per screen average from 4 engagements. Black Swan is like the Black Hole of cinema, expanding rapidly. This week’s entries include an aging love triangle, a talking, stealing bear, platonic parents, and the return of Tron!

Daydream on Palm Street starring Rorschach took the top spot at last weekend’s frame while Brendan Fraser’s Hairy Revenge saw a stampede of other releases crush his CGI famcom. This weekend’s new entries include the year’s top-grossing film (called it!), and a whole mess of babies and straight cash, homey. Here’s the rundown unfortunately not starring The Rock…
