Today is John Legend’s birthday, but he’s already opened his big present while vacationing in the Maldives. John proposed to his girlfriend / Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen this past week. It seems that the holiday season has gotten everyone in a proposal-y mood: just yesterday we reported that hottie Camila Alves was engaged to Matthew McConaghey. Just who in the holy hellscape is Alexander McQueen? Well, he was a British fashion designer who was chief designer at Givenchy before founding his own label. He won 4 British Designer of the Year awards as well as International Designer of the Year. Unfortunately, he passed in February 2010. But, his legacy still lives on as evidenced by the startling turnout of A-list celebrities at his Savage Beauty Costume Institute Gala held at the Met last night. We say, “startling” because we don’t even see this kind of top notch celebrity attendance at the Super Bowl, Grammys, Oscars, and Emmys combined. Don’t believe us? You’ve heard the rumors and yes they are true. Google and Sony Music are a go tonight for the launch of their brand-spanking new music video service Vevo. We got the opportunity to speak with a Vevo Beta-tester this week and he gave the new service rave reviews. It’s essentially a “Hulu for music videos.”
