It’s a good mix at the multiplex this weekend. You’ve got the historical and literary murder mystery of The Raven, romantic comedy with The Five-Year Engagement, seemingly reliable action with Jason Statham in Safe, and The Pirates! Band of Misfits as a kiddie film from animators with a long history of entertaining adults. Or maybe everyone will just watch The Hunger Games one more time. We’ll wait for the box-office results as the critics argue away…

Twitter’s a mixed bag; there’s a lot of superfluous garbage. This weekend’s entries feature producers/editors, moon thieves, fake babies, nukes, terrorist farmers, pink eye victims, The Last Airhead, and the world’s angriest man. Previews go now!

Movies premiering this week feature witches, bounty hunters, rock stars and time machines; so it goes without saying that there’s a little something for everyone. And maybe I’m speaking too soon, but it looks like there are more hits than misses for a change.

Combine what’s best in life – a hot tub and a time machine – and you’ve got a surefire hit on your hands. To sum up the development executive’s elevator pitch – this movie is like The Hangover meets Back to the Future. Why are you still reading this?! That’s all you need to know! GO SEE IT!
