October 25th is World Pasta Day. When we think of pasta, we think of The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM), the deity of the parody religion the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster aka Pastafarianism. It was created by Bobby Henderson who used it in a letter protesting the decision by the Kansas State Board of Education to permit the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to evolution in public school science classes. According to Bobby, an invisible and undetectable Flying Spaghetti Monster created the universe and pirates are revered as the original Pastafarians.
