Funeral Party is an indie rock band that developed in an otherwise sonically hostile atmosphere of metal and hardcore music. The east LA suburb of Whittier California was more known for headbanging and growling anthems of the hard edged music scene, but these guys looked more towards classic sounds of new wave and contemporary indie and alt vibes.
