May 23rd is World Turtle Day, an annual observance sponsored by American Tortoise Rescue. It was created to help people celebrate and protect the world’s oldest creatures – turtles and tortoises. People can pitch in by dressing up as turtles to saving turtles caught on highways, to research activities. Two things come to mind when we think of turtles – Jonathan the Zombie and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT). We celebrate World Turtle Day with a little bit of both in a photo gallery and video playlist that will have you painting your face and eating way too much pizza. Cowabunga, dudes.

We don’t know if this Chilean Lollapalooza pre-partier really does like turtles, but we think it’s safe to say, he digs The Joker and loves them Maro Po tortilla chips. If only we stuck around long enough to the see the Salvadoran Antoine Dodson and the Argentinian Grape Lady…. maybe next year.
