“Jack and Jill”, the latest movie from Adam Sandler’s production company “Happy Madison” finished second behind “Immortals” at the box office in its first weekend of release with $25 million despite receiving a paltry 3% rating on RottenTomatoes. We honestly thought South Park was kidding when they showed us their version of the Jack and Jill trailer, but nope it’s real and somehow it’s profitable. Many, including myself, wish Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore were never made because it allowed for the creation of Happy Madison, which has released such gems as Paul Blart Mall Cop, Zookeeper, The Benchwarmers, The Animal, and Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo. Jonah Hex did worse than the subpar performing “Prince of Persia” and just narrowly edged “Killers”. KILLERS! The Karate Kid and A-Team each dropped a slot while Get Him To The Greek rocked past Shrek 4eva.

As far as movies go, 2009 lined up some serious heavy-hitters and great deal of swing-and-miss-ers. But rather than reminisce over the films that were, we thought we’d take another look at the movies we’re most excited to see in the upcoming year. Only time will tell which of these 20 Most Anticipated Movies of 2010 will live up to the hype.

Seth Rogen fatigue is setting in, so we left The Green Hornet off the list. Ditto to the inevitable Nightmare on Elm Street remake, even though it landed Jackie Earle Haley to play Freddy Krueger. Remakes of Clash of the Titans and Death at a Funeral and the possible Ben Stiller/Tom Cruise comedy The Hardy Men might be good, but there were too many other interesting movies to pick from.
