With the new Green Lantern movie, there’s a fresh wave of hype for the emerald ring-themed hero. And while the action and lore of the Green Lantern comics are fun to read, you can’t help but notice some major problems with the Green Lantern corps. It could be our admiration for certain actors or directors, or it could be as simple as a bad-ass poster or tagline. Whatever the case may be, we’ve combed Variety’s Film Release Chart for the movies releasing in 2011 that could be on your “Best Of” list come this time next year. Looking at this year’s tentative slate of box office hopefuls, you might think Hollywood is unoriginal. Even with with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley replacing Megan Fox, Transformers 3 has no chance of erasing the soiled diaper that was Revenge of the Fallen.

But it seems that pretty soon they are going to run out of A-list comic book characters to do movie adaptations.
