July 21st is National Junk Food Day, which should be pretty self-explanatory. Just last week, news broke that Frito-Lay would put Cheesy Poofs into production, with plans to manufacture 1.5 million 2 3⁄8 ounce bags sold at the somewhat ridiculous price of $2.99 each. To honor these 2 momentous occasions we decided to take a look at some other fictional foods we hope make it to the marketplace (at a lower cost) in real life. Is this real life? We hope not. Check it out and let us know if we missed any in the comments after the jump.

By now we’re all numb to the marketing tie-ins for movies. It’s not at all uncommon today to see movies being promoted through clothing, cereal and, of course, video games. Since the goal of a video game tie-in is to gain popularity and advertising for the film in question, one doesn’t expect too much. Sometimes, however, the game can be a faithful homage that complements what we love so much about these movies. Other times the video game is nothing more than a cash-in. Check out COED’s list of movie video games that we remember for better or worse after the jump.

Have you ever seen a trailer that you thought was the most epic you’ve ever seen? Have you thought about a certain movie that could have gone in a different direction than the director intended. Well, if you have a sense of humor and some video editing skills, you can try to make a recut trailer for a movie that already exists. Likely, though, it won’t be as good as this list of the 25 greatest recut movie trailers. Enjoy.

t’s been nearly two years since the release of the highly acclaimed, fan-favorite Ghosbusters: The Video Game, which helped to temporarily sate the fans’ hunger for a third Ghostbusters movie. Heeding the call, Atari – the publishers of the 2009 smash hit – announced back in December that the Ghostbusters would be making their triumphant return to video games in the downloadable follow-up title Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime being released in late March. At last, the wait is over, but Sanctum of Slime is a complete departure from its predecessor in terms of gameplay and the overall story. See our full preview after the jump!

Have you ever wondered what mentally insane people see everytime they close their eyes, ones that have watched way too much bad television and movies? Well you get this – 10 minutes of what happens when you put a collection of unlabeled VHS tapes into a blender and watch the resulting phantasmagoria of chaos. We have absolutely no idea why this video was made or the purpose it serves mankind, but believe us when we say this: once you start watching, you can’t stop – no matter how psychedelically freaky it gets! See this video oddity for yourself… if losing your mind isn’t that big of a deal for you.

It’s usually no big surprise when movies get nominated for the Oscars, actors or actresses maybe, but films? Usually the big contenders are ones that are either critically acclaimed, released in the fall or released in very limited markets. But every now and then the Academy will throw a rather odd nomination into the mix just to shake things up. They usually don’t win, but it’s interesting that they recognize them. Here are a few movies that have found their way into the Oscar nominations that are considered either bad, campy, cult or just plain not Oscar material. See the full list after the jump!

Huey Lewis and the News released their night studio album, “Soulsville” earlier this month (11/2), so to commemorate we’re remembering the best songs featured in films. The band has 19 top-ten singles and has sold 30 million records worldwide. They were referenced in a memorable scene from American Psycho and they also had a series of highly successful MTV videos. If you’ve been to a hockey game recently, you might’ve heard their song come on after a goal (da-na-na-na-na-na HEY! da-na-na).

After nearly four years of busting your ass, trying to get good grades and keeping your shenanigans mostly out of view, there’s really nothing you can do to stop yourself from going completely apesh!t by the time your last semester comes around. You know, senioritis. But when that happens…
Not just the minx from Charmed, Alyssa Milano has now added video game voice-over acting to her resume by agreeing to play the role of Dr Ilyssa Selwyn in the upcoming Ghostbusters video game release. Ear-marked as the love interest in the game’s plot, the sassy archaeologist will be fending off the smooth moves of Bill Murray’s Dr Peter Venkman character while showing off her expertise…

It’s Saturday, and that used to mean nothing but cartoons all day. So let’s take a minute (preferably during a commercial time-out) to remember nothing but good, old-fashioned, cartoons. News out of Hollywood is that studio execs are in the process of bringing back the Ghostbusters franchise for a third movie. Growing up as a kid, the two cart… Click to read more

E3 is upon us! Alright, so it’s actually occurring all around us, at this very moment, and while it might be disappointing when we remember the E3 of old, with tons of swag and booth babes to ogle, the lack of those things gives us more time to focus on what’s really important. The GAMES. Nothing all that groundbreaking has been announced, and IR… Click to read more

To get right to the point: Bill Murray was in Sweden, wasted out of his mind, driving a golf cart around a main street in Stockholm.
He faces DUI charges. From riding a golf cart. Wasted. In Sweden.
If being a Ghostbuster, star of Caddyshack, Groundhog Day and Wes Anderson’s male muse wasn’t enough to solidify his status as the Coolest Motherf***e… Click to read more
