It should be of no surprise to you that we at COED pulled for the Gators in BCS Championship game. Sure Sam Bradford seems like a stand-up guy, and the Sooners have a smokin’ hot cheerleadering squad, but ever since our mind blowing road trip to Gainsville for the LSU vs UF game in October our loyalty has been with the Gators.

First comes Christmas, then New Year’s Eve – then college F’ing football! Now we think, like any good sports fan, that the BCS championship system is a load of crap. But it’s all we’ve got, so we’ll take it. Fortunately, the one thing not lacking in the BCS this year is smoking hot cheerleaders! Nightmare BCS Scenario: UF Wins, Doesn’t Play for the Title

As if things don’t already suck, a reader wonders: “What if Florida beats Alabama, but doesn’t overtake Texas in the BCS standings? Is a Texas-Oklahoma rematch possible?” Just a guess, but busloads of Gator fans in jorts storm the BCS offices (wherever they are) and refuse to leave until changes are made. Charlie Weis Will Live to Fail Another Day

Even though his formal meeting with Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbick isn’t scheduled until December 8, the leaked reports coming out of South Bend say that head coach Charlie Weis will miraculously return for 2009. Weis, 28-21 in his four years at Notre Dame, ended the 2008 season in predictable fashion last Saturday when USC dutifully thrashed the Irish 38-3. Hilarious SU Band Hazing Includes 2-By-4 Swinging French Horn Players

A member of the marching band and now a college student facing serious charges in a beating initiation of freshman members of the SU band’s french horn section known as the “Mellow Phi Fellow.” There was also a 2X4 board introduced to the victims. Blasphemy: Tebow Isn’t UF’s Most Dominant Athlete

What would you say if I told you Tim Tebow is only the second most dominant athlete at the University of Florida?

Would you cry blasphemy?

Probably, but that’s only because you likely haven’t seen the best UF has to offer.

The right arm of softball ace Stacey Nelson has led the Gators to the best record in school history (65-3) and is largely responsible for making UF the favorite to win the national title.

She does not have the same media attention or buzz as the golden boy Mr. Tebow, but when it comes to her sport she is by far the best in the business. [Independent Florida Alligator]

The Music Industry Threatening to Sue Over Music File Sharing at the University of Utah.

It may be too late to apologize at the U of U. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has notified the U that 12 people there illegally shared music files using the U’s Internet service.

The industry has asked university officials to forward notices of copyright infringement to those 12 students or employees. The RIAA says it will sue if they don’t respond. [KSL]
