Whether you’re a Yankee fan or not you have to admit Nick Swisher is the man. His energy, charisma, philanthropy and love of the game are just what the Doctor Gooden ordered for baseball. However, those traits aren’t just confined to the field and personal appearances, they carry over to world of Twitter and Facebook as well. Recently, NBC called him a “social media superstar” and if you’ve been following Swish on those platforms, you know the dude’s always got something interesting to say or show. Read more about Swish and see his best twitpics after the jump!

Two weeks ago, we gave away an iPad to the winner of our “Caption This” contest and this last week we anounced another iPad giveaway. Instead of doing another “Caption This” contest, we peer pressured you to get down and dirty with the rich and famous using Jeep’s “Mud U” Facebook app. After sifting through more than 100 submissions to COED Magazine’s Facebook Wall we narrowed the list down to our 16 favorite submissions (view below). See who won after the jump!

Last week, we gave away an iPad to the winner of our “Caption This” contest and this week we’re going to give another one away! It’s literally raining (or snowing?) iPads over here. We use ‘em as toilet paper now. Anyway, instead of doing another “Caption This” contest, we’re peer pressuring you to get down and dirty with the rich and famous using Jeep’s “Mud U” Facebook app.

Today’s WTF news items feature a New York mom who thought she bought a kid-friendly cartoon and ended up scarring her kids for life with adult entertainment, a Columbia University study that revealed hoes use Facebook just as much as housewives, and a joint study spearheaded by Purdue University that says Minority Report inspired the technology behind robot nurses obeying commands through hand gestures. Reuters reports the third annual sex survey by Shape and Men’s Fitness magazines revealed nearly four out of five women and three of five men say they believe texting, Facebook and other social networking tools cause new couples to jump into bed faster, but only 38% of women say they have actually slept with a date any sooner because of digital intimacy.

Our “Caption This” contests have grown increasingly larger since the first one we did a few weeks ago. Hopefully, you’re prepared for the sheer magnitude of the one we’re about to drop on your faces, because it’s big time. CollegeHumor and CourseSmart have teamed up to search for “America’s Smartest Slacker“, a college student who works smarter not harder. To help spread the word they want to give one witty COED follower a f–king iPad! We told you “Caption This” is blowin’ up; first it was a t-shirt, now it’s the hottest piece of technology on the market, valued at over $500. What’s next? A space shuttle? Lookin’ at you, NASA. Read entry details after the jump!

With Jesse Eisenberg hosting Saturday Night Live this past weekend and The Social Network looking to snag a few Oscars in a little under a month, we thought we’d take a look at 8 types of creepers Facebook’s created. If you’ve seen The Social Network, Jesse’s portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg might lead one to believe Facebook’s founder is a creeper himself. What do you think? Take a look at our rundown and let us know in the comments.

At the beginning of the month, we told you about Lake Superior State’s list of proposed banned words for 2011. While we’re the last ones to be censoring your freedom of speech, we also don’t want to keep saying sh*t that frankly is old news. That’s why we embedded a poll asking you to vote for the one word we, as an organization, should ban for the rest of the year. See the results after the jump!

Looks like it’s a Bucs/Texans cheerleader rematch with a Bucs cheerleader named Rachel and a Texans cheerleader named Brandi – both are top notch! More than 300 people submitted captions for our latest contest and after some careful consideration (throwing darts mostly), we’ve picked a winner!

January 26th is Australia Day, the official national day of England. Jk, it’s for Australia, but England sure had a hand in this holiday’s creation. You see, on this date in 1788, the British Royal Navy took over the eastern seaboard of New Holland and declared sovereignty. Native Australians are deservedly pissed, so they call this day, “Invasion Day” and “Survival Day”. To commemorate we’re helping you survive this bitter winter by invading your eyeballs and declaring sovereignty on your attention with pics of the most awesome Aussies the land down under has offered up, like Abbie Cornish, Elle MacPherson, Holly Valance, Isla Fisher, Kylie Minogue, Miranda Kerr, Sophie Monk, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
