On November 21st, 1789 North Carolina ratified the United States Constitution and was admitted as the 12th U.S. state. The home to the Panthers, Bobcats, and Hurricanes really needs a pro baseball team. They’ve gotta be sick of rooting for the Braves by now – they’re one of the losingest teams in MLB history. The Nats aren’t much better and the Orioles have more of their opponents’ fans in the stands than their own. While they don’t see many baseballs in flight (on the pro level) within state boundaries, they do have bragging rights to being first in flight, which is the state’s motto. September 23rd is Celebrate Bisexuality Day. Bisexuals remain the single most curious phenomenon. I’ve argued ad nauseum with many friends about whether or not someone can be a “true” bisexual – does that mean they have to split time equally boning boys and girls? Where’s the scoreboard? The 63rd annual primetime Emmys were last night (9/18) and we gotta say Jane Lynch was pretty stellar. We don’t watch Glee but we might have to tune in if she’s pumping out gems like she did at the ceremony. That opening number was awesome. We’re pretty sure you could boost any show’s ratings with a double dose injection of Lynch. She should probably get her own show. Anyway, other than the impromptu Miss Universe-esque act pulled off by the Best Lead Actress nominees, there wasn’t much in terms of entertainment. Other than the new Charlie’s Angels presenting Best Male Lead in a Drama to Coach Taylor, there wasn’t much eye candy either (unless you like low-cut “cleavage” dresses that exposed bony chest-plates). Shalom! Passover began April 18th at sunset. The 7-day celebration commemorates the liberation of ancient Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Israelites marked their doors so death would pass over them.
