Alycia Lane Brings the Pain!

Alycia Lane

The New York Post reported that Philly’s fiesty, Emmy Award-winning anchorwoman Alycia Lane was arrested after calling a female cop a “dyke b*tch” then punching her in the face. Sexy anchorwoman meltdowns are so hot right now.

Lane, 35, was riding around with her boy-toy Chris Booker (also a media personality in Philly; he’s a DJ at Q102) when a slow-moving car in front of them (full of cops, natch) got on the couple’s nerves. Once the officers pulled over their cab and confronted the two rabblerousers Lane decided it would be a great idea to start snapping pictures of the incident as it unfolded.

Attitudes where shown, spots were blown, punches were thrown – pretty gangsta to say the least. Lane’s exact quote is as follows: “I don’t care that you’re a cop – dyke b*tch!”

All of this from an Emmy Award-winning anchorwoman. (more…)

When Good Actors Make Bad Decisions

Norbit

The life of an actor in Hollywood is tough.

Between making ludicrous sums of money for playing make-believe, a demanding schedule consisting of people asking questions about celebrity life and paparazzi constantly snapping pictures, an actor must want to just curl up in a ball and not be bothered sometimes – preferably in their private jet or one of their many million-dollar homes.

Am I jealous? Somewhat. Am I angry? Absolutely!

All we ask of actors is to not suck – it’s that simple. But some of Tinseltown’s elite seem to have a problem accomplishing that single task. Loads of money and zero standards breeds bad movies, and the following stars have sold off their talents for cold, hard cash.

To the following offenders: shame, shame, shame. (more…)

Video Trifecta: Arrested Development

Arrested Development

There will never be a sitcom funnier, smarter and more likeable than FOX’s critically-lauded-yet-ratings-deficient Arrested Development.

I can understand that if you didn’t see the show from the beginning, you may wonder what the fuss is all about. If that’s the case do yourself a favor and buy/Netflix/download the Emmy-award winning first season. Watch it, love it, obsess over it. Join the cult – there are dozens of us…dozens!

To whet your appetites COED has rounded up a few choice clips from the show.

The laughter starts after the jump! (more…)

59th Annual Emmy Awards: Something Old, Something New

The Sopranos

The Emmys, not unlike the Grammys, usually have a healthy helping of smug involved – and that’s why it was nice to see a looser, more improvised feel at this year’s show.

The Sopranos, as expected, swept the major categories in drama, winning Best Series, Writing and Directing. Along with those wins, The Sopranos secured a spot in history as the only drama in the past 30 years to win Best Series in its final season.

As for dramatic acting: James Spader won Best Actor in a Dramatic Series (with his dry, sly, nonchalant wit in tow, natch) and the always-overdramatic Sally Field ranted about moms and war and stuff during her acceptance speech for winning Best Actress. Terry O’ Quinn scored gold for Supporting Actor in Lost and Katherine Heigl won Best Actress for her role on Grey’s Anatomy.
