Well, what do you know–you just got back to the pad, a brand new HDTV in the backseat, and a hefty credit card bill in your back pocket. And while times are tough–as we’ve hard many times before–you just got yourself a shiny 1080P LCD TV and the details of how you financed such a purchase can wait for another day. So, you hook up your beautiful set, fire it up and – crap- you have jack to watch on it.
Sure, you’ve got an Xbox 360 you can give a whirl, and while we all love yelling expletives at prepubescent punks over a game of death match, you want a more fulfilling experience. You want to really immerse yourself in a film and all its high definition glory. Well, bud, head back over to that big box electronics store, pull out that fresh, new credit card, and stock up on a Blu-Ray player and these 5 Blu-Rays that will exploit the wonders of your new set. (more…)

Girls. In bikinis. Fighting. What could be better? Well, how about watching the said sexy combo from the comfort of your couch? Which is just what volume three of the Knockout Queens DVD franchise promises, letting you view ladies like Kreamy and Sequenta pummel each other while wearing over-sized gloves and very little in the way of formal clothing.
Click here for the teaser (and skip to the minute mark for some ‘unique’ card girl action.)

Best of the Week: Chris Rock – Kill the Messenger
Chris Rock never exactly fell off, but he did just have a seriously unremarkable bunch of years. The two films he directed and starred in, Head of State and I Think I Love My Wife, both sucked, and his last stand-up special, Never Scared, was decent at best — not what you come to expect from one of the greatest comics alive. Fortunately, those days are far behind us. Kill the Messenger, which aired on HBO back in September, is quite possibly the best stand-up Rock has ever done. Considering how long he’s been in the game and how hilarious his old material is, that’s really saying something. Chris brings it hard in this one, tackling everything from the usefulness of the word ‘f*ggot’ to when its okay for white people to say ‘n*gger’ to Sarah Palin. It’s Rock at his finest — not to be missed! (more…)

Best of the Week: Pineapple Express
Have you ever watched a Cheech and Chong movie and secretly wished there was a bunch more car chases, gun fights and explosions? Apparently Seth Rogen has - and apparently he thought it was a really good idea, and so he decided to go ahead invent himself a little movie sub-sub-genre: the stoner action comedy. It just goes to show that not every idea you have while watching Cheech and Chong movies is a good one. Not to say that Pineapple Express is a horrible movie. It has its moments — mostly delivered by James Franco and Danny McBride — but those moments almost always occur during the ’stoner’ half of the film. The other half just feels like a terribly miscast, completely unremarkable action movie, with a few random “I’m sooo baked” jokes thrown in for continuity’s sake. Worth seeing? Sure. Good idea to make more stoner action comedies? Nope! (more…)

After the sucess of Talladega Nights, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly have teamed up again to star in the comedy Step Brothers. If you are looking for a good laugh this week then this is the flick to check out.
Ferrell and Reilly play a couple of deadbeats who are thrust together after their parents decide to get married. The pair are faced with an ultimatum to get a job or get thrown out of the house. After battling each other at the beginning they find they have more in common than they thought (funny how that works out). The two form an alliance and hilarity ensues. (more…)

I need to say this. Jewelry sucks. And I hate buying it for women and I think I’m done buying it forever–at least until I decide to get engaged. Honestly, is there a more useless thing on this planet then jewelry?
Completely ignoring the entire system of imbalance that permeates men/women romantic relationships when it comes to gift-giving and buying dinner etc, could I please get you something else? Something worthwhile. Something that doesn’t cost a fucking arm and leg to prove to you that I’m into you as a person?
Here’s some reasons why jewelry is stupid. (more…)

The 25th annual AVN Awards took place in Las Vegas over the weekend, and as expected, Evil Anal 2 won for Best Couples Scene. I mean really – was there any competition? With that said, I was quite shocked to see A** Worship 10 take home the award for Best Anal-Themed Release.
(Anal-themed! Seriously, that is undeniably awesome.)
Guys love pornos for their ridiculous movie titles as much as the content within (well…almost as much). How could I ever forget my first video, I Saw Mommy Eating Santa Claus? Poetry in motion.
Why don’t we take a look at some of the title highlights from this years AVN’s. (more…)

But now they are getting ugly.
The Blu-ray/HD DVD war has intensified over the holiday, but their idiot followers are taking it personally. On the corporate side, both camps have been particularly aggressive this holiday season, offering a variety of discounts, free movies, and other incentives to convince consumers to back a particular format.
If you have followed their respective users across the internet, you will realize that Internet arguments are even more infantile than usual, which alone – speaks volumes. The HD DVD boys struck “First Blood” by hacking the official Blu-ray site this weekend, and an online forum had to shut down its format discussion section. (more…)
