HuffPo reports via The Daily that Dave Chappelle “is working on a new show for a subscription entertainment service” similar to Netflix, Crackle, or Hulu. According to sources, the move would allow Chapelle to have more creative control and freedom, something he apparently didn’t have at Comedy Central. To celebrate, we pulled together the funniest animated gifs from Chappelle’s Show. We hope to see even funnier gifs from his new show this time next year. Check ‘em out after the jump.

Before there was Jon Stewart the host of the Daily Show, there was Jon Stewart the enhancement pot smoker from Half Baked (quite possibly the funniest pot movie ever made). We all know the character. He’s the obnoxious friend that thinks marijuana makes every activity that much better… AND HE’S NOT WRONG. It’s just that he goes out of his way to let you know it. “You ever seen the back of a $20 bill? You ever seen the back of a $20 bill… on weed? That’s f**king crazy yo!”

Daniel Tosh is the new Dave Chappelle. Okay, so maybe it’s not as cut and dry as that but Tosh’s ratings for Comedy Central are very Chappelle-like. He’s averaging more than 4 million viewers every Tuesday night (“Chappelle Show” averaged 3.1 million at its peak), he’s destroying Stewart and Colbert. He’s even beating South Park, which gets 3.7 million on average. His Comedy Central stand-up special, “Happy Thoughts”, had approximately 3.2M viewers, which is a new record for the cable net.

Let me ask you something. You ever seen Speed Racer? You ever seen Speed Racer…..on weed? To be perfectly blunt, pun intended, there are movies that can only be enjoyable when under the influences. But just like with medicine and beer, there are some movies that don’t work well with the wacky tobaccy. We count down the best and the worst movies to keep in mind when the next time you’re browsing Netflix. See our picks after the jump!

Teena Marie passed away in her sleep at her home in Pasadena, California yesterday. Also known as Lady T, was an American singer, songwriter, producer, and protégé of funk legend Rick James. She was also one of the few successful white R&B performers and the first white person to be signed to the Motown record label. In her memory, we pay tribute to her by taking another look at her mentor, Rick James, with this unforgettable Dave Chappelle skit and photo gallery.

I am a big fan of Dave Chappelle and consider him to be one of the greatest comedians of all-time. If you don’t agree please go jump off a bridge. Here is one of my favorite skips from the Chappelle Show, it’s a classic right up there with the Charlie Murphy True Hollywood Stories.
