Are we there yet? Every time you turn around, somebody is predicting what’s going to happen 10, 25 or 50 years down the road. But you don’t have to be a “futurist” to connect the dots when it comes to where we’re heading when talking about technology. Unlike human nature, tech moves in a straight line from point A to point B, most of the time. Which makes these predictions of mine less a “leap of faith” than you’d think. Just don’t come back in 2061 and rag on me, okay? Check ‘em out after the jump.

I was pretty jazzed when Apple made a word processing program (Pages) available for my iPad; now I can really use this tablet on-the-go and forget about lugging a laptop around. Of course that didn’t take into account the whole onscreen keyboard thing that makes typing more “thumbs” than QWERTY. I needed a change and I found it in Verbatim’s Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard. Check out our review after the jump.

Regardless of the fact that every single one of us runs out and buys the latest and greatest Apple product that comes our way, deep down, the entire general population loathes Steven Jobs with a passion. But if you thought you couldn’t hate the guy anymore, it turns out he’s – among other things – a no good plagirist! To be specific, he stole the idea for the iPad from “The Tablet,” a device from 1994 that essentially performed nearly the same functions as the iPad. Does that mean there might be an iPod from the 70s or 80s floating around? We don’t know for sure, but check out the startling similarities between the iPad and The Tablet for yourself!

Ah, social networking. What began as an online cave for basement-dwellers too afraid to form relationships with people IRL (that’s “in real life, ‘ for those less l33t-versed among you) has morphed into something that we can all appreciate/abuse. As technology has become more accessible, so too has the ins-and-outs of people’s personal lives, and the dating world has never been as straightforward and simple…or has it? Have the new, “easier” ways in which we communicate helped our relationships or have they made us all socially incompetent fish in the big, deep, dark sea? Read our list of pros and cons after the jump!

Poker is a lot like sex: do it right, and it’s the best feeling ever. Do it wrong, and you’re howling in pain rather than screaming in ecstasy. Also like sex, you can either make a great deal of money doing it or spend a great deal of money doing it — and there are a many more people spending the money than making the money.

Recently while surfing Facebook I noticed that a pattern emerging amongst some of me friends; they were damn good at being really annoying. It seemed like every status update I came across just made navigating “The Book” more and more unbearable. Instead of going through to tell each person why their crappy status was ruining my day I did the next best thing — came up with a biting list of the five worst kinds of status updates.

Okay, so a monk walks into a Best Buy. This isn’t a joke.
He buys three CDs, eight movies, two computer games, Adobe Illustrator CS3, the entire X-Files series, Microsoft Office Professional, and Rosetta Stone v3, so he can learn Swahili to communicate with his half-sister. The cost of all that? Easily over $2,500. Two weeks ago he bought Autodesk Maya… Click to read more

Last May, new rules went into effect barring military personnel from accessing 13 popular websites via Department of Defense computers and networks. Included among the banned sites were YouTube and MySpace.
The primary (and somewhat bullsh*t) reason for barring the sites was the DOD’s quest for bandwidth reduction and preservation. This wasn… Click to read more

I am embarrassed to admit this, but I spent a good portion of yesterday refreshing numerous technology blogs as Steve Jobs gave his keynote speech at the annual MacWorld.
Please don’t judge me.
It is just that since acquiring my iPhone, I have grown more and more obsessed with Apple products. They are so white. And shiny. And pretty. Oh, and I also wanted to see i… Click to read more
