We’re moving offices today, so I get the pleasure of working from home. One of the benefits from that arrangement is I get to watch CNN. Well, their developing story today is the report that this one dude Nevin Shapiro has come forward alleging he done some shady sh*t at the University of Miami and NO ONE stopped him for 8 years, implying that the coaches and administration knew about and chose not to step in. CNN’s calling this the worst college sports scandal ever. Do you agree? JT’s a peculiar bird. Dude has a billion chicks all over his jock because he makes them wet when he sings yet he has this burning desire to be a goofy comedian. So far, not so bad. He’s far better than any other musician trying to act, but it’s kinda weird to see a crooner take balls to the balls repeatedly. Like I’ve been doing that sh*t my entire life yet I don’t have a line around the block to swallow me whole. Sports Illustrated asks an intriguing question in a story this week: Does recruiting mail still matter? The story focuses on high school basketball star Roberto Nelson, who signed with Oregon State. He kept track of his recruiting mail from college coaches, receiving 2,161 pieces from 56 programs.

It was about the worst day Rick Heller, Northern Iowa’s baseball coach, could have imagined. He had to tell his team that the university was cutting the program at the end of the year to cover a budget shortfall.
