There was a time when video games were pretty controversial, with every news show saying that playing a game of Pokemon would turn you from an innocent, doe-eyed youth into a violent, doe-eyed killing machine. But somehow the Mario games never seemed to be too controversial, even though they managed to get some pretty messed-up messages subtly communicated to kids across the world. Maybe we should think twice before letting children play with fat, stereotypically-depicted plumbers who spend all day killing turtles…
Check out 4 Things That Should Have Made Mario Controversial, here!

It’s not hard to imagine why the geniuses at MTV thought that turning the College Humor website into a TV show was a good idea. The site is very solid — has been for years — and the original skits they’ve been creating hit more times than not. MTV is starved for non-reality programming, and with a history of airing shows like Human Giant and Wundershowzen, likes to think of itself as a promoter of ‘cutting edge’ of new comedy. (more…)

When the insanity that is Guitar Hero on “expert” gets too much to play on the guitar, it’s time to take matters into your own hands. Like this guy, who made a custom MIDI drum pad specifically for Guitar Hero 3. Here he is playing “Through the Fire and Flames” on the drums. It also helps if you’re a ridiculously good drummer – insane! [CollegeHumor]

With more than nine million visitors hitting their site every month, the two co-founders sat down with CO-ED to share their vision. (more…)

Stanford’s “Autonomous” Helicopters Teach Themselves To Fly
Stanford computer scientists have developed an artificial intelligence system that enables robotic helicopters to teach themselves to fly difficult stunts by watching other helicopters perform the same maneuvers.

The Ten Commandments of College
Student was searching for divine inspiration. Student walked high on the mountain of knowledge and came across God. Student asked God how to live life as a college kid should. And God said unto him, follow these Ten Commandments and you shall be all a college kid is. And Student thanked God and it was good. And Student spread the Ten Commandments of College to all.
