After claiming a loss of more than $70 million in 2011, the Mets declined to even make an offer to Jose Reyes, arguably one of the most talented homegrown players in franchise history, who left to sign with the Marlins. Lord knows they aren’t going to land any of the big-name free agents on the market this year.
