TokBox has released a flash based video chat application for Facebook that will allow users with a webcam or microphone to video chat with friends.
The ToxBox application is very easy to install and doesn’t require any downloads. Once you load the application, and open Facebook Chat, you’ll see a ToxBox link below next to the names of users who have the capability to chat. Meebo is a nifty website that allows you to sign on and chat using multiple messaging services like AIM, MSN Messenger, Google Talk and others.
Basically, this means you can go on AOL Instant Messenger without having to download the full software. It’s quite useful when you’re at the computer lab getting the itch to chat but downloading AIM software isn’t possible because damn IT has is blocked.
Meebo is similar to AIM Express in that you sign on via a website but it has many more tools, it’s easier on the eyes and the sign on process is much quicker.
The process to get started on Meebo is insanely easy – just visit meebo.com, pick which chat service you want to use, type in username/password and go to town.
