Squidbillies Volume 4 releases on DVD tomorrow, June 21st. The disc features 10 episodes and various bonus materials. One of the reasons Squidbillies has made it 5 seasons (with the sixth set to premiere September 11th) is Early Cuyler, the rowdy racist with a penchant for boozin’, muddin’, shootin’, and general mischief-makin’. Last week’s episode of South Park celebrated Stan’s 10th birthday, which is a rarity for cartoon shows. Most refuse to acknowledge their characters’ ages. SP’s been on since ’97 so if Stan were 8 in that year, he’d be around 22 now. The producers of the Harry Potter franchise frantically try to wrap up the series before everyone got boobs and balls. Two and a Half Men will soon Be Three Men (which sounds creepy without “and a Baby” after it). There’s a damn good reason why no one at Fox Broadcasting has ever given the thumbs up to a live action version of The Simpsons that stayed true to the anatomy of the characters- it’s scientifically impossible and the amount of nightmares such a thing would deliver is inconceivable… but a Mexican sketch-comedy program has defied nature and opened up a Pandora’s Box upon an unsuspecting audience. This is what happens when you accidentally hit “SAP” on your television remote while watching The Simpsons on LSD! I don’t know what’s more frightening: the doll-like, lifeless stare of their buggy eyes or seeing a man painted yellow dressed as Marge struggling to walk in a dress.
