Ohio State? USC? Florida? The answer might surprise you. After Auburn finished the season undefeated (for the second time since 2000) and won the BCS National Championship, many asked where this team stands amongst the best of the past 10 years. Auburn’s conference, the SEC, has been consistently hailed as the best in D-1, yet they don’t have any schools among the top five with the best winning percentages since 2000. Of the top 25 programs of the last 11 years, five are from the ACC, four are from the Big 10, four are from the Big 12 and four are from the SEC, according to ESPN.com. So who ARE the top college football programs from 2000-2010? Check out the chart after the jump!

If you watch ESPN round the clock like I do, you’ll know that walk off hit happen more frequently than a Lindsay Lohan probation violation. There’s at least 5-6 a night and they all end with a mosh-pit at home plate (unless you’re the Anaheim Angels) that screams “act like you’ve been there before.” But all bets are off in the playoff’s. You’re one out away from a fall full of golf. So…playoff walkoff’s….here’s eleven good ones.

We drove all though the night from Minneapolis to St. Louis for our 7:50am live interview on Fox. It was a tough drive, but it paid off. Around 3pm we drove over to Busch Stadium and found a great parking spot on the street only 5 blocks away. It was a 7pm game so with some time to kill we walked over to the Arch and took some pictures.
We asked our Twitter following whic… Click to read more

One of my favorite baseball memories growing up was the McGwire vs Sosa homerun race in 1998. Sure, in retrospect the race was a sham because we were all blind to the steroids epidemic of the 1990′s and 2000′s. But at the time America was totally immersed with these two guys hitting bombs at an incredible pace. Now there is another monstrous stud… Click to read more

Oh, October. A sweet, sweet month highlighted by the NFL and NCAAFB seasons in full swing, the NBA and NHL seasons getting underway and, of course, the MLB playoffs. The crux of the American sports universe lives here and it’s a wonderful thing. The race to the Fall Classic begins today and what else for a quasi-journalist to do other than make predictions that are bound to be wrong…

The Arizona Cardinals are going to enter the 2008 NFL season with the ancient former grocery-bagger Kurt Warner as their starting quarterback, despite having the talented and expensive former first round pick Matt Leinart chilling on the pine.
Leinart started the first five games of 2007 before suffering a fractured collarbone against the St. Louis Rams… Click to read more

Major League Baseball Commissioner Bug Selig has cracked the whip on amateur baseball teams across the country for infringing on MLB’s trademarked team names.
First, Mr. Selig went after the Cape Cod League, specifically the Chatham “A’s,” Hyannis “Mets,” Orleans “Cardinals,” Yarmouth-Dennis &… Click to read more

For many a baseball fan, the trading deadline is often more exciting to follow then the actual standings.
Who might go where, who is on the block, which prospects are worth trading for?
These are all questions that need answering before the July 31 deadline. And at the end of the day, does it really help? Does picking someone up for the last two months of the seaso… Click to read more
