November 16th is Have a Party With Your Bear Day. Never heard of it? Today’s WTF news items feature a gorilla that is most likely Snookin’ for love, a woman who will probably dominate in Trivial of Pursuit Beatles edition, and a convicted killer who thinks he’s the filet mignon for bears. Read more after the jump!

Last week, Oklahoma and South Carolina got spanked and Stanford embarrassed Arizona. The LSU / Alabama game topped them all. We look ahead to this week’s game featuring the Gamecocks vs. Florida, Miss State and Alabama, Ohio State vs. Penn State, A&M vs. Baylor, and K-State vs. Mizzou.

I always hated report cards. Nine times out of ten, it resulted in my television privileges going away for a few weeks. But not this time, folks. I’M handing out the grades this time and guess who the pupils are: the teams of the National Football League. It’s time to see how these guys are doing as they work toward the playoffs and a spot in Super Bowl 44. So here’s how I see it. Consider this my audition piece for John Clayton’s job at ESPN. Week 8 certainly had its share of fireworks. Another #1 bit the dust and Auburn earned the right to be the next BCS #1 with a win over LSU. This week one of the best rivalries in the nation will take place for the 88th time as the Florida Gators take on the Georgia Bulldogs; otherwise known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

Mixr Media announces the launch of BlitzNation.com, a community for passionate NFL fans from all across the nation, sharing their love of football with other die-hard football fans. It launched with 9 teams – Bears, Packers, Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, Steelers, Titans, Patriots, and Chiefs – and will expand to cover all 32 teams.

This one is a bit of an oldie, but we don’t think it got nearly enough attention when it came out. This is an ingenious mashup of Anderson Cooper’s coverage of “cute bear” videos and, well, some bears. We’ll let you decide whether or not they’re cute. But something tells us you’ll just be laughing to hard to notice.

Tailgating. It has become the most popular ‘ritual before the actual ritual’ ritual. It takes the term ‘pre-gaming’ to a whole different level.
