The Smirnoff Signature Mix launch party went down last night at Element in NYC and I must say, the only thing more impressive then the performances by Common and KRS-One were the Signature Mix drinks served by the sexy sexy sexy sexy Asian bartender – you know who you are!

All three signature mix drinks lived up to the hype but it was Q-Tip and Cool & Dre’s “The Blueberry Abstract,” made with Smirnoff Blueberry flavored vodka and lemonade, that took my vote for best Signature Mix of the night. Common and Just Blaze’s “The Southside” (Smirnoff Green Apple flavored vodka and cranberry juice) and KRS-One and DJ Premier’s “The Cypha” (Smirnoff Raspberry flavored vodka and pineapple juice) were close runners up.

This weekend I had my first wedding experience. I’ve been to family weddings in the past but never before was I at a wedding where one of my close friends was getting hitched.

The wedding/reception/electric slide/post party at some random bar in Harrisburg, PA was everything I had dreamt about since watching Vince Vaughn kill it in Wedding Crashers… and more.

I am new to Washington DC, and have been trying a find a place I can go afterwork to put my feet up and booze it up a little. Everyone (besides Mormons) needs a go to bar, and before last night my search was continually ending with no results. After an impromptu desire to find wings with a couple co-workers, I fell in love last night with a bar that had it all. Dollar off happy hour, comfortable couches and seating, pool tables, a juke box, large young crowd. On top of all of this they had 10 cent wings. GOOD WINGS! After a beer, 20 wings, and tipping the bartender, I was just down a five spot. I was so happy that I even called my dad to tell him that I had found ‘The One.’

The love affair lasted only one day. 12 hours actually. After talking up the place all night to friends and family, i discovered on the morning news that my new love had burned to the ground. (more…)
