Five Minutes with… Artie Lange

artie langeYou probably know Artie Lange from bit parts on the Howard Stern Show, ArtieLangeDeathWatch.com, or in movies like Old School and Beer League. COED caught up with Artie (for five minutes) and discussed life, college and alcohol.

COED: You went to Seton Hall University. How did that happen?
Artie Lange: I went there from September 1985 to September 1985 [Editor's note: No, that's not a typo]. I barely got out of high school, but I was good at baseball, and combined with the fact that my uncle knew a priest with some pull, so I ended up sneaking in [to Seton Hall].

COED:Why should anyone rent your movie Beer League?
AL: Me and the kid who wrote it (Frank Sabastiano) are both from New Jersey, and play in a softball league. We always wanted to do our own f—in’ rated-R softball movie. We got together five years ago in L.A., and said let’s just tell our craziest softball stories and put them index cards and try to structure it like a film. The whole team is alcoholics. And in the film, I live with my mom. Oh, and there’s a great bachelor party scene with tits and ass.

COED: Give us a drink you could recommend to college students.
AL: It’s very simple: Jack Daniel’s with water and a lot of ice. Let’s call it “The Artie.” I’ve heard some people call it that before, but let’s make it official.
