Sadly these wise people are humans; humans make mistakes. Today is a day for rest and reflection. The World Cup has entered its deadly serious phase, with 8 teams left standing: Paraguay, Ghana, Uruguay, Spain, Argentina, Holland, Germany, and Brazil, in rough order of their chances of succeeding.

Four years is a long time, but the wait has been well worth it.
